Looking Unto Jesus by Isaac Ambrose was written while on his death bed. He asked God to give him moments more if it was His will to finish this book. It is over 800 pages on Hebrews 12:1-2 I have wept as I read it pages as this great Puritan mind takes you from what Jesus looked off of to look towards us and what dregs of this world we look off of to look to Jesus. This was one of the first three books that Leonard Ravenhill first sent to me. It is truly one of the corner stones of my library.
T. A. Sparks is one the the great men of God from the last century. I have underlined this book so many times it is hard to read. He challenges us on what it means to really know Jesus and what that knowledge should do to change us.
This is one of the first three books that Leonard Ravenhill sent to me after I was born again. This book is a powerful look at the humility of the Lord Jesus as seen in Phillipians. This is a must read at least four or five times....per year.
SWI President Kevin Turner is an avid reader of everything from history to current events to world religions. Shortly after he was born again he was introduced to a tremendous man of God by the name of Leonard Ravenhill. Ravenhill sent him three books that would shape and transform his life. With emphasis on the Bible and the writings of other men of God he was told by Ravenhill to focus on books written by men that were dead and had with stood the test of time. It is interesting to note that Ravenhill though a prolific author himself never recommended to Kevin that he should read his books.
