Pakistan Muslims Kidnap two teenage Christian girls, forcing one to marry a Muslim.

--- 07/10/2008

Muhammad Arif Bajwa, a Muslim fruit vendor in Pakistan, kidnapped two Christian teenage girls. Saba Younis, age 13 and her 10 year old sister, Anila, were kidnapped from the small town of Chowk Munda in Tehsil Kot Aadoo, District Muzafargrah (South Punjab) Pakistan.

A week ago, the two sisters came to Chowk Munda to buy items for their family. Muhammad Arif Bajwa kidnapped the girls at gun point and told them to remain silent or he would kill them. The girls were horrified and he took them to an unidentified place. Two days later he sold the girls to Falak Sher Gill (a man notorious for his criminal acts.)

Falak Sher Gill, who bought the two Christian girls, married his son Muhammad Amjid to Saba Younis, age, 13.

When the father of the kidnapped girls, Younis Masih, came to know of his daughters kidnapping, he reported this to the police.  No action has been taken to get the girls released. Instead, the police officials asked the father to keep silent.

Younis Masih went to Falak Sher Gill to get his girls back, but he refused and threatened him, sharing that Younis’ daughter had been married to his son Muhammad Amjid and he also shared that she had accepted Islam. Younis begged for him to return his girls back to him because they are only teenagers. Falak Sher warned Younis Masih that the rest of his family would be killed if he filed a case against him. Gill claimed that he could not be caught by the police or the court.

There is great terror among the Christians of Chak 552, T.D.A (the girl’s hometown) and the adjoining areas. The Christians are scared to raise their voices to claim their rights. There are 158 Muslim and 14 Christian families in the village.  The law and order agencies are silent and hesitant to take actions against the culprits.

Note: Last month a militant Islamic group abducted 25 Christians who were released in less than 24 hours. The Prime Minister of Pakistan and the President have assured that the Christians of the country shall be protected and their rights will be ensured. Younis Masih and his family are looking for justice, the question is how long will it take for girls to go back to their family?

FROM SWI:  we would like to ask you to join us in bringing this matter before the throne of grace.  Please pray for the girls, petitioning for their safety and well being.  Please also remember their family members who are most certainly traumatized by this event.  Unfortunately, occurrences such as this are not rare in this region of the world and the Christians come under continued persecution.
